Business License Process

The City of Glenarden Business License Application must be completed in full. (Download the PDF application - located in left navigation). Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be returned to applicant.

All applications must include:

• a copy of the Prince George's County Use & Occupancy Certificate 
• State of Maryland Business License and;
• a copy of the lease agreement for property that is not owned by applicant.

Be sure to sign and return application with attachments and required fees.

Please advise the City of any change in status. A new license is required if a business changes location and/or ownership. Notification to the City of Glenarden is required if the business closes. Issued licenses are valid for one year and must be renewed prior to the expiration date.

Building Permit Process

The City of Glenarden Building Permit Application must be completed in full. (Download the PDF application - located in left navigation). Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be returned to applicant.

The requirement when applying for a building permit must include:

• Photo Identification;
• Completion of Application;
• Prince George's County permit along with the drawings;
• The cost of the project; and
• The contractors information: license number, name of the contractor and direct contact information - a valid phone number and email address.
