City of Glenarden, MD

City of Glenarden Commissions and Boards

Your community needs your involvement. If you would like to serve on a city committee, the Council recommends attending one of the committee’s meeting to get familiarized with the functions of the committee first. Once you have attended and find that you are still interested in joining, please fill out the application and submit with a resume or background information to the City Clerk or mailed to:

James R. Cousins, Jr., Municipal Center
8600 Glenarden Parkway
Glenarden, MD 20706 – 1522

Interview

The City Manager will schedule an interview for the candidate with the City Council. Interviews are generally conducted on Monday evenings prior to a council meeting. The interview provides an opportunity for the City Council and the applicant to get to know each other and allows the applicant to learn more about the activities of the committee.

Selection

Once a selection has been made by the Council, the City Clerk will notify the applicant of the appointment and when the swearing in ceremony will occur.
Please note: Membership on some committees may require the submission of a Financial Disclosure Statement. For additional information, you may contact the City Manager at: 301-773-2100.
