Form of Government

The City of Glenarden has a Mayor / Council form of government. The Council is the legislative body of the city. The Council has oversight function and general responsibility for municipal affairs through budgeting and setting policy. The Mayor shall see that the ordinances of the City are faithfully executed and shall be the chief executive officer of the City government. The Mayor each year shall report to the Council the condition of municipal affairs and make such recommendations as he or she deems proper for the public good and the welfare of the City.
