10/01/201 – Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag Will be at Half-Staff

Per Public Law 107-51 (passed by the 107^th United States Congress), the United States Flag is to be flown at half-staff each year in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, in Emmitsburg, Maryland.  This year, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will occur on Sunday, October 3, 2021.  Therefore, the United States Flag shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Sunday October 3, 2021.

As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff as well.  No flag may be higher than the United States flag.
