PRESS RELEASE - City of Glenarden City Council approved funding for street repairs on Glenarden Pkwy., Hamlin Street & McClain Ave.

City of Glenarden City Council approved the Removal and Replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb/gutters and aprons on Glenarden Parkway, Hamlin Street and McClain Avenue

Glenarden, MD – On May 15, 2023, the City of Glenarden Council approved funding for street repairs. The repairs will entail the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb & gutters, and aprons on Glenarden Parkway and milling and resurfacing of Glenarden Parkway from Brightseat Road to Jeff Road.  

In addition, the Council approved the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb & gutters, and aprons on McClain Avenue and installation of new sidewalks in the 8500 block of Hamlin Street. 

The approved funds for Glenarden Parkway will be in total of $584,829.80 – contract work by NZI Construction Corporation. The approved funds for McClain and Hamlin was $26,397.67. Photo-Brightseat and Glenarden Pkwy - Copy (2)

Please be advised of the following locations that will be impacted:

Removal, repair and replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter and aprons:
  • 1st Street through 11th Street on Glenarden Parkway; and 
  • 8700-9700 block of Glenarden Parkway
New concrete installation: 
  • 8500 block of Hamilin Street (next to Christ Mission Church); and
Removal, repair and replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter and aprons:

  • 8600 block of McLain Avenue
